This week we remember fondly the man who was a friend to all! Mark Dickens was born and raised in Valley Home and in the years since his passing he is missed each and every day by all who knew and loved him.

This week is a busy week at Valley Home school. Several students will be traveling to Gratton School for a Spelling Bee. Good luck to all! Our 4th and 5th grade students will be at Asilomar in Monterey this week. The 4th and 5th graders are excited and eager to learn many new things during their time at Asilomar. Student of the month pictures, luncheon and assembly will be this Friday. Assembly will start at 2:15 p.m. in the school gym.

School board members will hold their monthly meeting this coming Tuesday, April 21st. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. in the after school program room.

There will be a collaboration meeting at 3:00 p.m. today at school.

Our Valley Home students are busy working on their Science Fair projects. The Science Fair will be held April 21st through April 23rd. The gym will be open Thursday, April 23rd from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the public to visit the school and view the projects. All are welcome! Our students have worked hard, please come out and support them and enjoy their efforts.

Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the MAC meeting on April 22nd. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. It is a great place to ask questions and to get lots of great information.

Our prayers and well wishes go out to Cody Fleischer and his family as he recovers from injuries suffered in a roll-over Jeep accident. We hope to have an update on Cody’s condition for next week’s column.

Also our thoughts and prayers are being sent out to Julio Moreno as he recovers from an accident as well. We all hope you will be up and around real soon.
