We have received word that San Joaquin County (Lone Tree, Henry, Steinegul and Seidner area roads) will be having their annual Neighborhood Watch potluck family meeting and BBQ on September 12th at 4 p.m. at Martin Manor, 15339 Henry Road, Escalon. San Joaquin County law enforcement will be on hand as well as other local government officials. This is important to all Valley Home residents also because both counties often share the same criminals who hop back and forth across the county line. The San Joaquin County Neighborhood is aware that our Valley Home Neighborhood Watch group no longer meets, but our area does obtain information from the Stanislaus Sheriff’s Department at our regular Municipal Advisory Council meetings. They are also interested in learning information concerning our area.

The San Joaquin group has been informed of the recent appearance of building graffiti at Valley Home School and very recent trespasses, suspicious activity and at least one home burglary which was committed by cutting through a chained, locked gate at property located on 26 Mile Road. Michelle McKenzie, spokesperson for the San Joaquin group anticipates that residents will be collecting monies to order new “Neighborhood Watch” signage and stickers for our San Joaquin County neighbors at this meeting. She would like to know if our Valley Home residents would like to contribute to the collection by joining them in their order and benefit from the bulk discount. We are requested to advise the group as soon as possible or attend the meeting on Sunday with our contribution.

Those wishing to attend the meeting are asked to please RSVP to Colletta Martin at 652-9223 because she will be purchasing the meat for the BBQ. If you plan to attend, please bring a dish to share. Any questions, or if you would like to contribute funds to order signage, but not attend the meeting, please contact Michelle at 505-4071 and leave a message.
