This week is an exciting week for future kindergarten students at Valley Home School! Today, Wednesday March 11, is registration day! It’s always such a big day for the youngsters and parents alike ... It’s a bittersweet time for many parents as they realize how quickly their little one is growing. Registration will be held on the Texas Avenue campus from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The school board met last evening, with several items on the agenda. We will be reporting on this meeting in next week’s column.

Remember, Easter comes early this year, so our annual community Easter Egg hunt will be on April 4 this year. More info to come.

The Parent Teacher Club met last Thursday and discussed the upcoming science fair which will be held April 20 thru April 24. P.T.C. also discussed the jog-a-thon which will be held on April 2nd. Students will once again be encouraged to participate in the jog-a-thon shirt design contest. What great fun! Remember to keep sending in those box tops ... they really add up. Special thanks to Raleys for the much appreciated check to our school for over $500. Our students will soon be coming home with fabulous mix-a-bag fundraiser information.

Be sure to mark your calendar for Thursday, March 19 ... This is the day the school will be selling mouth-watering, delicious cinnamon rolls. The delightful treats will be sold from 8 a.m. until sold out! The cinnamon rolls are $5 for four. Come by and enjoy, while also supporting the Asilomar field trip!

We send our very best wishes to Laura and Glenn Burghardt, and are very happy to report both are fine after someone smashed into their car near where Laura was seated! So glad you are both fine!

This Friday March 13, the school will hold its Second Trimester Awards Assembly. The assembly will start at 1:50 p.m. with the 4th thru 8th grades being honored first, followed by our kindergarten thru 3rd graders. We are so proud of all our students!
