We send a big Thank You to all those who supported our Valley Home School Dinner Dance! The evening was a wonderful success. It was such a special event in so many ways. I was amazed at the bidding on the auction items. Folks were definitely there to support the students of Valley Home School! I learned that if you wanted to bid on an item you had better get your hand up quick. The bidding was fast and furious with very hefty prices being paid by the generous crowd. Dinner was served right on time and was absolutely amazing. Peach and berry cobbler finished off the delightful meal and folks were even invited to go back for seconds. After dinner several guests hit up the dance floor. The crowd was encouraged to request their favorite tunes. For many it was a delightful trip down memory lane. We were privileged at our table to sit with Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Cullum. It made for a very special evening. Kenny and Janine grew up in and around Valley Home. What fun it was to share the evening with them. Looking around the room it was easy to see that this evening was about friendships and a way of life that only exists in rural communities! It was indeed a very special night. I plan on getting on the list early for next year’s dinner ... this one was sold out!

This Friday our Valley Home athletes will travel to Paradise School to participate in the track meet. Good luck to all. Go-o-o Hawks!
Also on Friday the lower grades will travel to the Sacramento Zoo! What a fun time this will be! The school year coming to an end, the next few weeks will be a very busy time for our Valley Home students.
Remember our Valley Home School will be holding their Garden Fair on May 2nd. All are welcome. More info to come!

Oakdale High FFA students traveled to Anaheim for their State FFA convention. For a while it looked like their trip was in jeopardy because the trailer (license #4KJ1127) with several thousand dollars of convention supplies was stolen. With the help of many caring people, the convention was held as scheduled! We are grateful to all who made this wonderful trip possible. We are so proud of our Oakdale High FFA! We would also like to thank a very special mom who went with the kids, Happy Birthday Ronda Verdegaal. What a great way to celebrate your birthday!
