You can feel the excitement in the air as our Valley Home students’ lace up their running shoes and prepare to put their best foot forward for the Annual Jog-A-Thon on April 1st. Our runners have been busy collecting pledges for the event and are anxious to get running! MoHawk the School Mascot invites you to be sure to stop by the field located on the Pioneer campus at 10:30 a.m., and cheer our runners on.

There is still time to volunteer to help at the event. People are needed to help with set-up, clean-up, and man the class desks to count the laps made by each child. Valley Home School P.T.C. members will be barbecuing lunch following the event and could use some help serving food and cleaning up. If you are available and would like to help with this event, please call Lisa@ 840-3178, thank you! This will be a minimum school day and residents are all invited to come and watch and cheer the runners on! School will dismiss at 1 p.m. with the After School Program running until 5:45 p.m.

Thank you for supporting our students and sponsoring them with this event as well as others in the past, our club and our school sincerely appreciate you! School will resume on Monday, April 12th!

Rumors are that there have been sightings of a large white bunny wandering the playground at the “old” campus. We think that this might just be our friend the Easter Bunny checking out the best area to hide eggs for the Valley Home 4-H Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday, April 3rd. We understand that the Hunt will begin at 12 noon. The Bunny’s helpers ask everyone to please try to be there a little early as the eggs go rather quickly. We are told that our 4-H Bunny helpers have been busy coloring and decorating hundreds of eggs to be hidden. There will also be fun prizes to be found. MaryBeth Carpenter is chairing this event and would like to invite all the children in the community to “come out, bring a basket, find some eggs and have a lot of fun!”

This past weekend our 4-H’ers also took part in the County Presentation Day held at Denair High School. Results will be coming soon, but congratulations to all who took part! These young people, (and leaders as well) put so much time and work into their speeches, and demonstrations, etc! Valley Home is proud of you all!
