We send our heartfelt sympathy to our dear friend and neighbor, Shawn Perez. Shawn lost his beautiful sister Mary to a tragic vehicle accident this past week. Mary Perez Robertson, we honor you, the world has lost such a beautiful, kind and caring woman ... you are forever in our hearts. May God bring comfort to the entire Perez and Robertson families.

We would like to send a huge “Thank You” to our Valley Home General Store owner, Susan Lee, as she turns the General Store over to its new owners. We will all miss Sue so very much! Just last week, to our Valley Home School students’ excitement, Sue once again handed out huge delicious candy bars on Halloween. This year as our School Halloween Parade made its way past the General Store, each student surprised Susan with a hand written note; a note that shared their love and appreciation for this amazing woman! Susan will definitely be very much missed and very deeply appreciated by a grateful community. Our Valley Home students have grown up going in and out of the General Store. Our community will miss our store visits with this amazing woman. Students will definitely miss their lunch time visits with Susan. Our students will each cherish their happy memories of their time spent at the store. Many of us grownups also have many great memories ... to name just a few, I remember over 20 years ago watching as Valley Home resident Mike Monschein enjoyed a frosty cold ice cream on the bench outside the General Store with his daughters Kristi and Amanda. What a great memory! I remember watching as Susan patiently smiled behind the counter as Karen Monschein allowed every little girl in line with her daughters to pick out something and she generously paid for every item. I love to hear the stories of the “good times” on Friday nights for many in our community ... after a hard day’s work, (and many other nights, too) community folks would meet and enjoy the evening together at Susan’s. What a special time for all. Another legendary group, softball players “The Moonlighters” also had great fun and great stories; so many happy memories for so many Valley Home folks. Susan, we love you, we wish you so much happiness and relaxation in the years to come. God bless you Susan, always!

“Welcome” to our new Valley Home General Store owners.
