We know it’s summer time in Valley Home ... each year at the beginning of summer the lovely Texas belle Miss Tayler Denman arrives in Valley Home! Best friends since childhood, Tayler and Valley Home resident Jenna Heaton look forward to their annual visit and great adventures! This year, in fact, just last month Jenna and parents Scott and Tena had made the trip to Texas to see Tayler graduate from Texas A&M Commerce. Those of you who remember Tayler and her family from their Valley Home days will be excited to learn Tayler will be moving to Georgia and will attend the University of Georgia in the fall! What a great way to start summer ... a hometown visit from a very special young woman!

Football practice is in full swing at the high school. It is remarkable to see the dedication these wonderful athletes have!

Summer school will be winding up at the end of this week at the Valley Home School. Lots of learning, tons of reading ... What a great experience for our students!

The “Moon Lighters” softball team is still at it, after all these years these best friends are still having fun together. What a great tribute to special friends and a lifetime of good times and true friendships. Go Moon Lighters!

Although the almond trees that dominate the Valley Home landscape are lovely to behold, there are actually still a few fields of summer rice that dot the landscape in Valley Home. The beauty of a fresh planted rice field is unmatched ... in days past one could drive through Valley Home and enjoy the shimmering view of a just flooded rice field ... What a glorious sight!
