This past week we said a sad goodbye to one of the nicest and greatest team ropers we know. Farewell dear cowboy, your life here on earth was well lived, Rest in Heavenly Peace Rickey Green.

We would like to wish our good friend Mr. Earl Fife a very happy birthday week! Earl is an amazing man; he has done so much for our Valley Home community. Although Earl does not live in Valley Home anymore, he continues to do all he can for Valley Home and the Oakdale community. We hope your birthday week is filled with great happiness!

Please remember our Valley Home School Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, October 27th at the school. We are looking forward to a beautiful full harvest moon to shine down over our Fall Harvest Festival activities! Hayrides, games, silent auction, class baskets, face painting, cotton candy, sno cones, harvest sweet shop, candy apples, delicious treats from the harvest kitchen, and so much more! The fun begins at 5:30 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m. Please come out and enjoy a great dinner, have fun, and support our Valley Home students!

Excitement in Valley Home, after years building up treasures this coming Saturday, October 20th the “Old Rutherford Home” will open the gates and welcome all into a huge barn, house and garage sale, all doors will be open, 12900 Pioneer Avenue in Valley Home. Sale starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.; Saturday only, everything goes!

Congratulations to our Valley Home 4-Hers! Miss Callie Chrisman won a silver medal second in state, archery 30 yards no sight, compound bow, wonderful job Callie! Wyatt Waller received a merit award/certificate for his amazing talents. Wyatt your hard work is an inspiration to many others. Great work Wyatt, way to go!

To all 4-Hers, please consider signing up to work a shift at the Dutch Hallows petting zoo on October 20th! This is a wonderful way to get community service credit and have a great time. Please contact Becky Hoekstra, Valley Home 4-H, if you would like to help out.

Our Valley Home School volleyball and football teams did very well last Friday. It was an absolutely beautiful fall day, the kids enjoyed hosting Shiloh School, it’s a great joy to see them learning and having so much fun with our Valley Home sports program. Thank you for all who make this possible!
