Hello to each of you, I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful start to 2024. Since this is on my heart, I would like to share it with you all. This past Sunday I enjoyed very much going to church service here in Valley Home. We have two beautiful churches in Valley Home … both are very special. The folks that attend services at each of these two churches are very welcoming and make you feel very much at home. I’ve said this before, I wish I could go to each of them. Our Valley Home 4-H Club met for many years at the beautiful little Missionary Baptist Church behind the school. We appreciate the many years our 4-Hers had such a wonderful place to meet. Many, many kids learned the 4-H Creed during the monthly meetings held at the church. Part of the creed reads: My Head to clearer thinking … My Hands to larger service … it is definitely a creed to live by. I am thankful for all the many, many people who gave their time to teach so much to our Valley Home 4-Hers. Our children were blessed to have so many caring adults in their lives over the years. Many years later, and as our Valley Home 4-H became a much smaller group, our 4 -Hers would meet in various other locations. I always had such fond memories of the great times our 4-H Club had at our Valley Home Baptist Church.
Many times, I would pass by on Sunday mornings and see folks heading in to Sunday service. Although I deeply and very strongly believe in our Mighty God … I always seemed too busy to stop and go in. As the years went by things would touch my life that made me want to stop and go to inside to services all the more. My husband Richard was actually the one that would finally say to me, since it’s my (his) birthday (April 23, 2016) let’s go down to the Wednesday night service this evening. We did go … and I will always be so glad we did. Richard was called home to Heaven very suddenly and very unexpectedly just a few short weeks later. I am grateful our God is a forgiving God; even after that, I still did not go as often as I should have. I do believe we can serve God anywhere we are at, but for any of you who do not have a home church or would just like to come visit the little congregation on Valley Home Road, you are always most welcome. I will try harder in 2024 to share my Sunday mornings on Valley Home Road in a little church that welcomes all with open arms. Sunday Service is from 10am until noon with a delicious potluck this Sunday for all to enjoy.
