Hi everyone; I hope you have enjoyed these beautiful sunny days. Yes, we had a little rain but what beautiful gorgeous days followed!

Our young people have definitely been busy; Valley Home cowboy Colton Farquer has had an extremely busy and super productive year. Traveling throughout the country, this amazing young ‘Rodeo Man’ has racked up wins wherever his travels take him. With tremendous support from his devoted family, Colton is able to rodeo throughout California and several states beyond. He finished the 2022 season with his second California Circuit Championship. Throughout his travels, he has enjoyed great rodeos from Kennewick, Washington; Caldwell, Idaho; Logan, Utah; including a big win at Bozeman, Montana; and a great run at Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in Texas. These are just a few of the many rodeos Colton entered with great success during the year. Go Colton!

We are excited to share that Caden Farquer has passed his engineering certification to advance his career. Caden is very talented and extremely dedicated to his career in engineering. He is a hardworking young man with tremendous skills and amazing knowledge.

Colton and Caden, our Valley Home community is so proud of you both!

Congratulations to our Oakdale High School wrestling Mustangs. Over this past weekend our wrestlers became D-1 section dual champs. It was a wonderful sight to see the Oakdale school bus carrying our Oakdale wrestlers roll up to a local pizza place on Saturday evening; what a much-deserved pizza celebration for our hungry wrestlers! Such an exciting weekend for these amazing youngsters. They work so hard, it’s easy to see how they have earned this prestigious title. Congratulations to our Oakdale High Mustangs; you are amazing and you make us all so proud!

Valley Home sends our best wishes to another hard working and extremely talented young man, Tyler Cooley. He is currently enjoying his high school basketball career, even as mom Shanna is sad to see his high school years come to an end, she is definitely not counting the weeks until Tyler graduates! Shanna is such a devoted mom to both her sons, Tyler and Matthew.

Matthew just returned from a very successful weekend in Oklahoma. These boys are amazing. Mom has attended games for every sport the boys have played, always the greatest cheerleader; she and Alan are always there. Mom and Dad and a devoted group of family and friends are always in the stands to support both the boys. We are so proud of both of you, Tyler and Matthew; keep reaching for the stars!

We won’t name the adventurous group of Valley Home boys that had an awesome time snowboarding over the weekend; they are all in the 20- to 21-year-old age group. Yup, they had a great time, perfect snow … until one of those fun-loving boys took a jump and ended up with a broken arm! Back to Fresno from Fresno State College visiting with great buddies … it was back to Oakdale. It always amazes me the fun and the craziness our country boys can get themselves into. A memory for sure for our Valley Home boys!

We end today’s column with sad news I just received … our dear neighbor and sweet friend Lisa Jones recently lost her precious mother. Lisa, we send you our most heartfelt sympathy. We are here for you, Jason, and the girls; we love you all so much! May God bring comfort to your broken hearts.
