Knights Ferry

Knights Ferry Community Club Christmas dinner was well attended. There was a lot of food and good cheer. Oakdale High School’s choir, under the direction of Bryan Mills, performed. Student Thomas Mason sang Mr. Grinch to the audience and it was great! The choir sang and signed “Silent Night”. A group of four girls put together a medley of songs that they sang, very cute! The program ended with a sing-a-long. What a great way to start the season!

Way to go Mustangs! A police escort escorted the bus back into Oakdale to a big crowd. Jude Krick was seen on Channel 10 broadcasting after the win! His brother Jace played. On Saturday the team was eating breakfast at the Corner Cafe wearing their new ball caps. Now they are on to the CIF Northern California Regional Bowl Game.

The annual Knights Ferry Christmas parade was a big event. The street was lined with spectators. Leading the parade was the fire truck, followed by Ben Cassinetto’s “train” with Santa. Troy Mangante pulled a load of well-wishers of the Mangante, Ulrich and Voortman families. Dakota Voortman rode her decorated bike. Rick Maisel pulled his decorated kayak and Benny’s Cooking Academy were cooking up cookies. Jim Rotelli was on his gator and Bre, Kylie, Kylie and Lydia were also on a 4 wheeler. The Beer Express, Cleo’s Sleigh, Bunny Phil and the Rowdy Reindeer followed. Tracy and her elves and Bud’s Truck along with the West Coast Custom Cars were at the end. Others were zipping through the parade but I didn’t get their names. There was candy galore and all had a good time!
