Stan co SO

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department officials have updated information regarding the location of a shooting over the weekend that resulted in the death of an Oakdale woman. Katrina Allen, 38, died of gunshot wounds at Oak Valley Hospital after being dropped off there on Saturday night.

Department detectives issued a statement on Wednesday afternoon, indicating that they “wanted to provide the community with an update into the Oakdale homicide investigation they have been conducting” since this past Sunday, Sept. 27.

According to authorities, while they were first called to the 9900 block of Cleveland Avenue on Sunday morning as part of the investigation, they said it now appears that “the original location of occurrence is believed to be in the 2300 block of Twildo Road” in an unincorporated portion of Oakdale.

Detectives continue to urge members of the public to call Det. Silva at 209-525-7091 should they have any new information to help shed light into the death of Katrina Allen. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Stanislaus County Crime Stoppers at 209-521-4636 or at their website www.stancrimetips.org.

The case was initially received as a call for service to the Oakdale Police Department, and officers responded to Oak Valley Hospital on Saturday night, Sept. 26 where Allen, suffering from gunshot wounds, had been dropped off. She later died there of her injuries.

Sheriff’s deputies were asked to respond to the 9900 block of Cleveland shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27 to investigate the incident and on Wednesday reported that the 2300 block of Twildo, east of the city, has now become the focus.

Department spokesman Sgt. Luke Schwartz added that the investigation is continuing, with detectives “gathering information, processing multiple scene locations, obtaining statements and collecting evidence.”

Authorities are also asking for the public’s help in finding the person who dropped the gunshot victim off at the hospital on Saturday night.
