Results remain unofficial for the race in Oakdale Joint Unified School District’s Trustee Area 2, with ballots still being counted and verified.

Eric Kjeldgaard and Terri Taylor were the two candidates for the trustee seat that includes both a portion of Stanislaus and San Joaquin counties.

Results from the Stanislaus County Registrar of Voters as of Monday, March 13 showed Taylor with 479 votes and Kjeldgaard with 477. In San Joaquin County, the updated numbers on March 13 showed Taylor with 20 votes and Kjeldgaard with 22. That would put the two in a dead heat, tied with 499 votes each.

The all-mail election ballots had to be postmarked by March 7 and officials said there were still some to be counted before a winner in the race could be declared.
