Jose Manuel Gonzalez Silva is being sought as a suspect in a homicide currently under investigation.

Authorities have now identified a possible suspect in a weekend homicide, with the victim found in her vehicle north of Woodward Reservoir.

Late Tuesday afternoon, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department said that a suspect has been identified and a warrant issued for the arrest of Jose Manuel Gonzalez Silva, 30, in connection with the death of Beranea Moreno, 25, of Lodi.

Silva is believed to be driving a lowered dark blue GMC Yukon with black rims. The license plate is still unknown. Prior to the homicide, detectives believe Silva and Moreno were in an intimate relationship living together in Stockton.

If anyone has any information on Silva or knows his whereabouts, contact Detective Cory Brown at 209-567-4485.

The investigation began when a citizen located a deceased female in a gold colored, four-door Toyota Corolla around 2 a.m. on Monday, April 8. The vehicle was on the shoulder of Milton Road near Highway 4, in an unincorporated area of Stanislaus County. The citizen reported this to the Oakdale Police Department which advised the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 2:50 a.m. Monday, Sheriff’s Deputies confirmed there was a deceased female in the vehicle. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Crimes Against Persons team responded to the scene to investigate. The vehicle was towed to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Coroner Facility with the female in it to preserve evidence and provide for a controlled environment for investigative purposes.

An autopsy determined Moreno’s identity and the fact that she was the victim of a homicide.
