Stockton Campus Growth
As a psychology student at Stan State’s Stockton Campus who graduated in December 2004, Karen Snell remembers a robust program that offered every upper-division course she needed. Now, she’s one of five full-time faculty members hired last fall to teach there. Snell says it’s the students and the people who populate the Stockton Campus that make it what it is.

Isabela Covarrubias says her inspiration to be college educated comes from her mother, who took classes at Modesto Junior College, and other college-educated women in her extended family and circle of friends.
Coming Up At Stan State
At the Turlock Campus, Mary Stuart Rogers Building, Room 130, Stan State’s Department of Ethnic Studies presents the University’s Fifth Annual Black Power Matters event in recognition of Black History Month. This year’s theme is “Radical Reclaiming of Black Joy and Liberation” and will include performers and a panel discussion on Wednesday, Feb. 22 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The keynote speaker is Horace Campbell, professor of African American studies and political science at Syracuse University.
