The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a death investigation in the 4200 block of Highway 108 just outside of Riverbank.

Department tactical teams, investigators, crimes against persons detectives, coroner’s office detectives, and crime scene technicians will continue to be on-scene working the case for the next several hours. The area is deemed secure and traffic has been re-routed away from the property. The department is asking the public to avoid the area of Highway 108 between Claus Road and Mesa Drive.

The initial 911 emergency call for service reporting suspicious circumstances was received just before 1 p.m. Thursday afternoon, Sept. 9. Authorities said they will be able to provide additional details once lead case agents have had an opportunity to fully process their scene.

Members of the community are urged to contact the non-emergency dispatch line at 209-552-2468 should they have information to share with on-scene law enforcement personnel.
