Schools Superintendent Begins His Second Term

Stanislaus County Superintendent of Schools Scott Kuykendall was sworn into office for a second term at the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors’ Chambers on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023. During the swearing-in ceremony for several elected county leaders, each official shared comments with the audience.

“Children are society’s greatest gift, and there is no greater responsibility than their care, protection, and education,” said Kuykendall. “I am proud of what the County Office of Education’s 1100 committed employees accomplish daily, serving many of the most vulnerable students in our communities.”

Additionally, three re-elected board members, Chinyere Nnodim-Jack of District 5, Alice J. Pollard of District 2, and Kim A. Rose of District 1 were sworn into office previously at the Dec. 13, 2022, Stanislaus County Board of Education meeting.

Officers for the December 2022-23 term were also elected at the meeting. Chinyere Nnodim-Jack will serve as chairperson and Kimberly Spina will serve as vice-chairperson, Kim A. Rose will serve as representative to the Stanislaus County School Boards Association, Alice J. Pollard will serve as representative to the County Committee on School District Organization, and Mary Ann Sanders will serve as representative to the Education Foundation of Stanislaus County Board.
