An early afternoon fire Saturday, June 11 forced the closure of a portion of Highway 120, about five miles east of Oakdale. According to the road information posted on the Caltrans website, motorists were being advised to use an alternate route and the California Highway Patrol website indicated some traffic was being detoured on to Orange Blossom Road as a way to get around the highway closure.

The fire was first reported about 1:15 p.m., coming in as a grass fire in the area of Orange Blossom, with CHP units requested at the scene to help with traffic control about 1:45 p.m.; and Caltrans crews also asked to assist. The latest information on the CHP website, just after 3 p.m., indicated the fire was along Highway 120 near Lancaster Road.
