Calling all college and high school filmmakers: The Grand Foundation is now accepting short film submissions for its 2019 Student Film Festival to be held March 16, 2019, at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts in Tracy. The final deadline for film submissions is Jan. 1, 2019.
Submission forms, deadline information, submission rules and guidelines, and legal releases are available on the Grand Foundation website at grandfoundation.org/events/film. All film entries can be submitted through FilmFreeway at https://filmfreeway.com/festival/GrandFoundationStudentFilmFestival.
Now in its third year, the Grand Foundation Student Film Festival is designed to inspire young filmmakers and give them an attainable venue in which to have their short film live-screened, juried and awarded. The Festival showcases short films from college, high school and immersive digital/film/arts high school students throughout California, Arizona, Nevada and Oregon. Films must be between three to 15 minutes in length.
Submitted films will be juried by a panel of judges, and accepted films will be live-screened before the public. The Grand Foundation will present over $6,000 in awards for the best student films. The Festival will also feature film-talks from film/TV industry professionals, a Jury Panel Discussion with questions from the audience, and an Audience Choice Award Contest. The day-long event will culminate with a Filmmaker Awards Reception and networking for film students with industry professionals.
The Grand Foundation relies on corporate and business sponsorships to help underwrite the Student Film Festival educational prizes. To become a sponsor, contact Grand Foundation 209-835-3900.
