National Health Center Week will be observed Sunday, Aug. 6 through Saturday, Aug. 12. This annual event, sponsored by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC), provides an important opportunity to celebrate the work of community health centers and raises awareness in the communities served by Federally Qualified Health Centers. Every year, Golden Valley Health Centers (GVHC) hosts a series of patient and community events to commemorate National Health Center Week and showcase the commitment and passion of Community Health Center staff.
Officials with GHVC said they are proud to be one of the largest Community Health Centers in California. With more than 50 years of service in the Central Valley, the organization has a long history of providing high quality, comprehensive health care to residents. At the upcoming events throughout the service region, the center will celebrate the workforce and its communities who trust their healthcare to GVHC, which is a growing network of clinics serving nearly 150,000 patients each year.
Community Health Centers serve as a source of strength and hope in communities across the United States. Collectively, they care for 30 million patients a year, representing 14,500 communities. GVHC invites the community to join in highlighting the achievements and work happening at Community Health Centers in every state and territory. In partnership with local leaders and elected officials, they are celebrating the uniqueness of community through various events, open to the public. Each event offers resources and information, refreshments, Medi-Cal renewal support, entertainment for kids and more.
