Congressman Jeff Denham, who represents this area in the 10th Congressional District, made a brief stop in Oakdale on Friday afternoon, March 23 for a special tour of the new Oakdale School Farm. A student got in some practical ‘hands on’ work using the tractor to plow a field behind the barn while Denham listened to Oakdale Joint Unified School District Superintendent Marc Malone describe the unique setting and teaching aspects of the farm. Along with the tour in Oakdale, the congressman toured the new bridge being built over the Stanislaus River on McHenry Avenue south of Escalon and also stopped by the American Veterans First facility in Riverbank.
