Victory Caps Homecoming
parade 3
Making the most of their last float through Homecoming Week, the Senior Class of 2016 went cruising through the tropics on their float submission. The Class of 2016 proved to be the one to beat as they were named winner in both Class Float, as well as Window Painting Champions. See additional Homecoming photos, Page A15. In a week that saw the Seniors beat the Juniors in Powder Puff action, new Homecoming Royalty crowned and an ‘off-the-beaten-path’ route for the Friday afternoon parade of floats, Oakdale capped its fall celebration with a big varsity football win over Lathrop on Friday night. (See story, photos in Sports, Page A10.)

Most of the festivities for the week centered around The Corral, with new royalty including Homecoming King Adam Olsen and Queen Jillian Mello, Homecoming Prince Jace Crick and Princess Liza Marsella selected and presented with their crowns. The Wednesday night Powder Puff action belonged to the seniors, while the senior class also won the float competition for the Homecoming festivities.

Friday afternoon’s parade stayed more on G Street than the traditional F Street route, leaving some hopeful watchers with nothing to cheer about. In the parade, however, the OHS Marching Mustangs band played, royal hopefuls cruised by and the various grade levels and some school organizations floated by, showing their school and community spirit.
