Veterans Workshop Slated

The Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission is holding a Facilities Needs Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1001 South Santa Cruz Avenue, Modesto.

The workshop is to discuss facilities needs for area veterans and to receive comment from the public on where veterans groups are meeting and where facilities should be located in the County.

Topics will include: Process for Identifying and Prioritizing Facilities Needs; Survey of Veterans Regarding Facilities Needs; Results of Needs Questionnaire Received to Date; Workshop:  Additional Comment on Needs; Services and Programs Needed; Where Are Groups Current Meeting; Where Should Facilities Be Located Within Stanislaus County; How Can a New Facility Help to Bring Veterans Together/Receive Services?

The purpose of the Commission is to represent all Veterans in Stanislaus County by advising the Board of Supervisors and staff on matters pertaining to all Veterans.  Members of the public are welcome to attend and are encouraged to volunteer to serve on a strategic priority committee.
