Veterans Advisory Meeting Scheduled In Riverbank
US Flag

Area veterans will have an opportunity to gain knowledge and voice concerns about veteran issues and programs when the Stanislaus County Veterans Advisory Commission hosts their monthly meeting on Monday, Sept. 24 at the Scout Hall in Riverbank at 5:30 p.m.

The commission, which was established in 2012 by the county Board of Supervisors, provides county veterans and veterans’ organizations with a forum to address issues of importance to the veterans community in Stanislaus County. Among its accomplishments are the opening of the Stanislaus Veterans Center and veteran service offices at 3500 Coffee Road in Modesto which is considered a one stop shop for veterans and the only one of its kind in the state. The commission was also instrumental in establishing the only known VetsVan program in the state, providing rides for disabled veterans to their medical appointments.

The meeting will be held in the Boy Scout Hall at 3017 High St., Riverbank, beginning at 5:30 p.m. and will include representatives from national, state and local politicians as well as several county agencies.
