Variety Of Entertainment This Month At Black Oak

Black Oak Casino Resort will maintain its reputation as the ultimate destination for entertainment in 2017. This January, the property will welcome a wide variety of live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, ranging from the hottest tribute performers in the U.S. to some of the best local bands Northern California has to offer.

Performed in the casino’s Willow Creek Lounge, shows are free except for a select few that may require a minimal ticket charge in order to limit crowd size for optimal comfort. For all 8 p.m. shows, doors will open at 6:30 p.m., while doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for 9 p.m. shows. Seating is first come, first serve.

Black Oak Casino Resort is in Tuolumne, just seven miles east of Sonora, off Highway 108. Black Oak Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians in Tuolumne.

Thursday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. – The Hot Dark

The Hot Dark is a post-new wave jazz and rock quartet based out of the Sierra Foothills in Murphys. The band’s quality songwriting and high-octane performances make them a fan favorite.


Friday, Jan. 13 at 9 p.m. – Apple Z

Apple Z is a group of seasoned veteran musicians putting their own spin on radio hits from the 2000s through today.


Saturday, Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. – Ascension

Ascension is a tribute band covering favorite Motown, R&B and light rock hits. Two female and one male vocalist head up a rhythm and a horn section that never misses a beat.


Thursday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. – Bella Donna

Bella Donna is a tribute band staged to fully embody Stevie Nicks in the Fleetwood Mac era, complete with all the costumes and electrifying hits.


Friday, Jan. 20 and Saturday, Jan. 21 at 9 p.m. – Foreverland

Foreverland is a larger-than-life tribute to Michael Jackson. The 14-piece ensemble features four powerhouse vocalists as well as rhythm and horn sections that combine perfectly to recreate such songs as “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal” and “Don’t Stop Till You Get Enough.”


Thursday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. – The 19 Nevermindies

The 19 Nevermindies is an all ‘90s tribute band from Twain Harte. They cover songs from hitmakers including Tom Petty, Metallica, Tracy Chapman and even Slayer.


Friday, Jan. 27 at 9 p.m. – FLO

FLO or Funky Latin Orchestra plays a one-of-a-kind blend of contemporary and traditional Latin dance music.


Saturday, Jan. 28 at 9 p.m. – East Wind Band

The East Wind Band out of Sacramento is a cover band playing a collection of funk, soul, R&B and classic rock.


Willow Creek Lounge is a smoke-free entertainment venue complete with a full service bar, dance floor and bar-top video slots. All guests to the lounge must be 21 or older to attend.
