The League of Women Voters of Stanislaus County is sponsoring a forum for candidates running for the office of Board of Directors of the Oakdale Irrigation District. The Forum will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. All candidates who will be listed on the November ballot, have been invited to attend. Those candidates are:

For Division 1 - Frank Clark and Gail Altieri

For Division 4 - Al Bairos Jr. and Linda Santos

For Division 5 - Gary Osmundson and Daniel Medina

The League of Women Voters neither supports nor opposes candidates for office. League rules only allow a forum to take place if at least two candidates are present for each seat being contested. A League member will be the Forum moderator; other League members will collect questions and keep track of time. Each candidate will have:

Two minutes for an opening statement.

One minute to respond to each question presented. These questions will be submitted by the audience present. Some questions may be submitted by League members. Questions are addressed to the candidates at large, not to individual candidates.

One minute for a closing statement.

Campaign literature may not be distributed and campaign signs or demonstrations for/against candidates will not be allowed in the room.

The forum is open to the community and all are encouraged to attend.
