Stanislaus County Supports Cox, Feinstein

Election results from the Tuesday, June 5 primary election show Stanislaus County voters supporting John Cox in the race for governor and Dianne Feinstein in her bid for a return to the U.S. Senate.

Unofficial election night results showed Cox with 8,323 votes in Stanislaus County with Gavin Newsom in second with 7,477.

Feinstein polled 9,457 votes – well outdistancing all competitors on the ballot; her projected opponent in November is Kevin DeLeon.

In Congressional District 10, incumbent Jeff Denham polled 10,947 votes in Stanislaus County, with second place finisher Josh Harder – the likely opponent in November – with 4,326.

Andrea Borgeas polled 5,398 votes in the race for Senate District 8, outdistancing Paulina Miranda, with 1985 votes. Incumbent Heath Flora had 11,967 votes in a bid for the Assembly District 12 seat, with challenger Robert D. Chase polling 7,570.

Countywide, Jeff Dirkse had a 14,701 vote to 11,405 vote lead over Juan Alanis in the race for sheriff and incumbent Birgit Fladager had more than double the votes than her opponent, John R. Mayne, 13,213 to 6.095 in the race for district attorney.

In the race for State Board of Equalization District 1, Tom Hallinan had 11,626 votes, leading the race by a wide margin.
