As of Sunday, Dec. 9, the Stanislaus River fall-run salmon migration is at 4,711 salmon. For comparison, the season total was 8,230 salmon at this time last year. Did you know the largest Chinook salmon ever recorded in California was more than 85 pounds, and four feet long? Typically, adult salmon are closer to two feet in length.
