Sales Tax Survey Results On Council Agenda

The results of an ad hoc committee’s sales tax study is set to be presented at the June 6 Oakdale City Council Meeting.

In May, the council commissioned Godbe Research of San Mateo County to perform a survey on the viability of the tax initiative that would raise the sales tax in Oakdale.

The council would still have to pass the measure by a unanimous vote to put it on the November 2011 ballot. If passed by the council, the initiative would also have to go before the Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors by June 17.

Also on the agenda is a presentation on the feasibility of an Oakdale-Riverbank police partnership and to obtain consensus from the council to proceed with discussions with the Riverbank City Council and its staff.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the City Council Chambers located at 277 North Second Avenue.

For coverage of the meeting see the June 8 issue of The Leader.
