River Road Closure Tuesday
McH pix

In preparation for the upcoming traffic shift onto the eastern half of the new bridge over the Stanislaus River, construction crews will be paving and re-configuring the intersection of McHenry Avenue and River Road in Escalon starting on April 24 and continuing through April 27.

For the safety of the traveling public and the construction crew, the eastbound lane of River Road (just east of the intersection) will be closed on Tuesday, April 24 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.

A traffic detour will be in place along McHenry Avenue, Jones Road, and South Harrold Avenue. Motorists are asked to comply with construction signs in the area.

The April 24, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. closure will only affect motorists traveling eastbound from the intersection of McHenry Avenue and River Road. All other lanes, including those on River Road to the west of the intersection, will remain open under reversing traffic control.

The temporary lane closure will shorten the days of paving activities and subsequently reduce traffic impacts to the traveling public.
