Plunge In To Fun At Community Pool

Just in time for the arrival of some hot weather this weekend, the Royse Memorial Plunge will open for the season.

An Opening Day Splash is planned for Saturday, May 30 from noon to 5 p.m. when admission to the pool will be free. In addition, there will be games and water safety information available, along with a chance to sign up for swimming lessons and be evaluated to determine which lessons you should register for. The pool is at 555 N. Third Ave.

Regular swim hours this season for Open Swim will be Monday through Thursday, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Fridays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The pool is open seven days a week from May 30 to July 31, then weekends only from Aug. 1 through Sept. 6. Children under the age of seven must be accompanied by a chaperone of 16 years of age or older at all times during open swim.

Open swim fees are $1 per day for 13 years old and under, $2 per day for swimmers 14 and older. Punch cards are also available at the pool for youths at a reduced rate.

Swim lessons begin Monday, June 8.
