At night shelter dogs and cats dream of being warm and safe in the loving arms of their forever family. It’s a dream you can make come true this holiday season when you adopt one of Oakdale Animal Shelter’s deserving homeless pets.

The Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance is joining national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society, along with animal rescue groups and shelters across the country, in the “Bring Joy” annual animal adoption campaign that started Dec. 1 and runs through Dec. 31.

“For an adoption fee of $25 you will always remember the holiday season of 2016 as the one where you brought home the one gift the whole family can love,” stated Janis Birch, OSPA volunteer and event coordinator. “The holidays are the time we think of how important our families are to us. Families are important to the homeless pets who don’t have one to call their own. OSPA is dedicated to bringing great families together with the homeless pets of our community.”

Pet Alliance personnel urge you to warm up your home with a furry family member this month and bring joy to your world.

“The Oakdale Animal Shelter has many pets that are eager to prove how awesome rescued pets are,” said Birch. “Every day some 9,000 animals are killed in our nation’s shelters simply because they don’t have a home.

“When you choose to adopt you not only save that animal’s life, you create the space to help save more homeless pets in our community.”

Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance is an active partner in Best Friends No More Homeless Pets Network, which offers help and support to animal rescue groups that save lives in their communities.

“We are proud to partner with Best Friends on the holiday adoption promotion,” added Birch. “We really believe together we can save them all.”
