Fire Prevention Week is being observed Oct. 5 through the 11 in Oakdale and part of the celebration will allow the community to get to know their local firefighters.

There will be an open house for the public at both fire stations in Oakdale. The fire stations are located at 325 E. G St. and 470 Willowood Drive. The Open House event will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at each station.

Firefighters will be giving station tours and will be offering tips on keeping your home safe.

Community residents are encouraged to attend.
