There was plenty of fun to go around at Oakdale’s Kerr Park on Saturday, with the 11th annual Oakdale Kiwanis-City of Oakdale Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Fest. Top photo, proving you’re never too old to get in the spirit, the nine- to 12-year-old group was off and running Saturday as they sought out treat filled Easter eggs. Below, from left to right, 21-month-old Gavin McDaniel made his way around the law hunting eggs left by the Easter Bunny; bubbles filled the air and lawn as nearby youth waved wands full of suds-filled liquid, much to the joy of their pint sized audience; and Stanislaus Consolidated firefighters were on hand this year with hats, as well as offering a boost to ‘future firemen’ to sit in the fire engine. The Spring Fest always offers families a good time following the traditional egg hunt. An array of games, hot dogs, popcorn and tour through first responder vehicles continues to draw a good crowd.
