The 2016-2017 board members of the Oakdale Women’s Club recently hosted a Get Acquainted Tea for new members at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club. This was an opportunity for new members to meet the Board and to ask questions about the activities and opportunities to participate on various committees. Co-President Sandee Polterock and Membership Chair Sandy Dyer hosted the event.

Pat Paul, Co-President, described the philanthropic history of many community civic causes, including the refurbishing of Dorada Park. The members fundraise all throughout the year to support a scholarship program and other charitable projects.

At each meeting there is a program covering a variety of informational, current, and fun subjects. One highlight of the year is the White Elephant and Bazaar held in December. Judy Little, Chair of Fundraising, inspired everyone with her attire for the “April in Paris” theme for next April’s meeting.

Membership is open to all women in the Central Valley. The first meeting of the club’s new year will be Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2016.

The Oakdale Women’s Club meets at the Oakdale Country Club from September through May. The luncheon buffet for the Sept. 13 will be $16. For more information or to make a reservation contact Louise Summerlot at (209)342-0281.
