Oakdale Police Corral Would-Be Horse Thieves

Two men were arrested on Saturday morning, March 31, caught in the act of stealing horses.

Authorities said that about 2 a.m. Saturday, Oakdale Police received a call regarding a suspicious vehicle loading up horses in the 1000 block of Post Road. When officers arrived on scene it was quickly determined to be a theft of horses in progress.

As a result of the call, Colton Haynes, 28, and Dustin O’Daniel, 23, both of Oakdale, were arrested for felony theft charges. Both Haynes and O’Daniel were booked into the Stanislaus County Jail. The horses were returned to their owner.
