The 2014 CIF Sac-Joaquin Division III Section Champions, the Oakdale High School Mustangs, received notification Sunday that they will also take part in the CIF NorCal Division II 2014 Regional Football Championship Bowl Game. The Mustangs (13-1, 6-1) will travel to Concord to take on the Ugly Eagles of Clayton Valley Charter (14-0, 5-0).

The Mustangs finished the regular season on a three-game winning streak to help share the Valley Oak League title. Oakdale entered the 2014 CIF Sac-Joaquin Division III Section Playoffs as the No. 3 seed. The Mustangs knocked off 14 seed Pacheco 50-8 in the opening round game; took down 6 seed Vista del Lago 42-14 in the quarterfinals; and put away 10 seed Rio Linda 41-14 in the semifinal game. That put them into the Section final, where they overcame a 20-0 halftime deficit to knock off the top seeded Inderkum Tigers by a final score of 27-23 on Saturday night at Lincoln High in Stockton. Oakdale is currently ranked 47th in the state.

Clayton Valley Charter dominated the Diablo Valley League this season, and continued to put up big numbers in the 2014 CIF North Coast Division II Section Playoffs as the top seed. The Tigers roared past 16 seed Newark Memorial 61-7; 8 seed Montgomery 69-19; 5 seed Casa Grande 55-3 and took care of the second seeded, division rivals, Concord 33-6 in the finals. Clayton Valley Charter is currently ranked 24th in the state.

These two powerhouse schools will clash on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Clayton High with a 7:30 p.m. start time. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for students with valid ASB cards, seniors (65 years or over) and children.
