Oakdale emergency crews responded to a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17, and requested a helicopter to transport the driver to a Modesto hospital due to a partially severed foot.

Oakdale Police Lieutenant Keri Redd said police and fire units responded at 3:45 p.m. to a reported solo roll-over accident in the 700 block of Branding Iron Street. When officers arrived, the driver, a 25-year-old man, was under the motorcycle and conscious.

“The investigation shows the driver went to pull his Kawasaki motorcycle into a driveway and lost control and fell,” said Redd. “The foot wasn’t completely severed, but was only partially attached with a minimum of flesh.”

Redd said the primary collision factor of the accident was the driver’s speed and did not know if any riding inexperience contributed to the incident.
