MEMORIAL PROJECT
Leo Flags pix

A combined effort of the Oakdale Lions Club, the Leo Club – which is the youth arm of the Lions – and Boy Scouts Troop 43 saw flags placed on the graves of veterans at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery on Saturday, ahead of the Memorial Day holiday. Here, Leo members Marianna Marquez, Jasmin De Los Santos and Krishna Garcia Alatorre check the list for more graves in need of flags. The project was done for many years by local veteran Glenn Burghardt and members of his family, passing it on this year with detailed records of where the veterans are buried in the cemetery.
