Man Stabbed In Knights Ferry

Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a late night stabbing Sunday, Dec. 11 near Knights Ferry that sent the male victim to Oak Valley Hospital.

According to police reports, deputies responded to the intersection of Highway 108 and Kennedy Road to investigate the report of a stabbing.  Deputies found a vehicle with large pools of blood inside and on the ground near the vehicle. The vehicle window had been smashed but there was no one at the scene.

Soon after, deputies received a call from Oak Valley Hospital saying a man had checked into the emergency room with stab wounds. Upon further investigation, they discovered the victim and his girlfriend had called an acquaintance for assistance after their vehicle had broken down.

An argument ensued and the victim was stabbed but the girlfriend was not injured.

No arrests were made as a positive identification on the suspect was pending.

Deputies are treating this case as an attempted homicide.
