Library Offers November Programs For All Ages
O Lib
There will be plenty of events offered throughout October at the Oakdale Library.

Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms continue through November.

Wiggle Worms Story Time is perfect for ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers. Join us every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy stories, music, dancing, rhythm activities, and fingerplay, as little ones learn to love reading with people they love.

Preschool Story Time sets the stage for Kindergarten with books, flannelboard stories, fingerplay, and music geared to children ages 3-6, and caregivers. We will meet every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. for fun and learning. Please join us and get a jump on early education.

Our “Little Scientists” S.T.E.A.M. Program for ages from Kindergarten to nine years old, will be on Wednesday, November 20, at 3:30 p.m. Listen to a book, then explore the world of science with fun and interesting hands-on activities in our “science lab!” Watch out for speeding fowl as we host “Turkey Races.” Sign-ups are required in advance. Please call the Oakdale Library at 209-847-4204 for info.

We will have Lego Days twice this month. Kids can create their own masterpieces using our fabulous Lego collection and we will display these great works in the Library. The building fun begins at 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 7 and November 21.

Our Children’s Craft for November will have a Thanksgiving theme as we will make unique and personalized “Gratitude Mobiles.” What are you grateful for? Children can make cut-outs to express their thoughts and attach to a fanciful mobile, ready to hang for the holiday. This craft takes place on Tuesday, November 12 at 3 p.m.

Then, all are welcome to join us for music and learning fun, as “Bach in the Classroom” returns to share an appreciation for great music and instruments. Children and family members will all find something new, interesting, and entertaining in this presentation on Thursday, November 14 at 3 p.m.

Please plan ahead for our special “Read To A Dog” Event coming on November 19 from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. This unique program gives children a relaxed non-judgmental atmosphere to practice reading aloud. Drop by the Library and read to a certified therapy dog. No sign-ups are necessary in this program designed for independent readers up to age 12. Books are provided or child can bring their favorite. The dogs are happy with any child’s choice!

Our Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, November 18. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time. Join us at 11 a.m.

Our Oakdale Library Book Club for Adults will meet to discuss this month’s selection, “Crown of Dust,” on Tuesday, November 26 at 11:30 a.m. Please stop by the Library now to sign out a copy, then join us to discover and share. New members are always welcome.
