Preschool Story Time and Wiggle Worms will be off-session in April. They will resume in May, 2018.

Our popular “In-N-Out Burger Cover to Cover Reading Program” for ages 4 to 12, will continue until April 14. Fill out a reading log and get a certificate for a free delicious hamburger. It only takes five books to start eating.

On Thursday, April 5, starting at 1 p.m., don’t miss our wonderful Dia! Celebration Day of the Child, Day of the Book. Enjoy stories read in Spanish, German, and other languages. There will be Folkloric Dancers, crafts, informational tables, and a free book give-away. Please plan to have the whole family attend this multicultural educational event.

Computer Classes will be focused on “Basics” on Tuesdays, April 10 and 17. These classes begin at 10:30 a.m. If you are interested in learning Microsoft Word, you will want to join our class on Thursday, April 12, at 6 p.m. Please call the Library for info and be sure to reserve your space. Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, April 9, at 11 a.m. Parents can help their children learn social skills and have fun at the same time.

Don’t miss our special Cowboy Roundup! We will share a little pre-rodeo fun with stories and activities on Wednesday, April 11, at 3:30 p.m. for all our little “Buckaroo Buddies!” Wear your western gear if you like and bring a stuffed pal to share the festivities.

We will two Lego Days this month on Thursdays, April 12 and April 26, at 3:30 p.m. Kids can unleash their awesome creativity and we will display their masterpieces in the Library. Join us for building fun!

Enjoy our new monthly edition of Family Story Time. Come for a special Saturday Story Time experience on April 14 at 10 a.m. Books, music, fingerplays and more.

Learn the art of self-expression through “Creative Writing and Poetry.” This Workshop program is hosted by Josie’s Place and is designed for young adults, ages 18-25. Stop by the Library Community Room on April 16 and 30, and indulge your creative side. Workshop begins at 3 p.m. both days.

Teen Book Club And Craft will be meeting Tuesday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m.

Come join other teens as we talk books and create together. The craft this month will help bring your dreams to life by designing a “Dream Board”.

Children’s Craft will be on Thursday, April 19, at 3:30 p.m. April showers bring May flowers! Make an adorable picture using cotton balls as clouds and cupcake liners as umbrellas.

Please bring your little ones for some Toddler/Preschool Dance Fun on Monday, April 23, at 11 a.m. We’ll be “rockin’ out” to some of our favorite Story Time music as well as trying the hula, the Twist, some hip-hop, or perhaps a Mexican Hat Dance.

Our Library Book Club will be reading “The Art of Racing in the Rain,” and then meeting to discuss and share on Tuesday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m. You can sign out a copy at the Library and join in. New members are always welcome.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of so many of our programs and prizes. They will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, April 23 at 1:30 p.m. Forms to join and info are available at the Oakdale Library.
