Pre-schoolers will enjoy a fun, lively program about recycling and keeping our earth green!  There will be stories and activities. Join us on May 15 at 11 a.m.

Our wonderful Summer Reading Program begins May 22, and will continue all through June and July. Come by the library and join in the fun activities, prize drawings, entertaining programs, and read what you enjoy as we celebrate our theme of “Reading Takes you Everywhere!” There are prizes for every age level.

Help us “kick-off” our wonderful summer of reading with two great events. First, especially for teens, it’s a Harry Potter escape room adventure. Solve puzzles, find hidden clues, work together, and keep your wits about you. It’s much easier to get in than to get out! The challenge begins at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29. Advanced registration is required, so sign-up at the desk or call the Oakdale Library at 209-847-4204.

Our second event is a Harry Potter Party on Thursday, May 31, at 3 p.m. Help us celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, with Harry Potter-themed crafts. Children of all ages will enjoy the activities.

Our Library Book Club will be reading “The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins. On Tuesday, May 22, at 11:30 a.m. they will meet to discuss and share. You can sign out a copy at the Oakdale Library and join in. New members are always welcome.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of so many of our programs and prizes. They constantly promote and encourage the great gift of literacy at all levels for everyone! The Friends will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, May 21 at 1:30 p.m. Forms to join and info are available at the Oakdale Library, or call 209-847-4204.
