Knights Ferry Students Annual Salmon Release
KF3
The children enjoyed surveying the Stanislaus River prior to release of the baby salmon. Here, first grader Samantha Hall was all smiles as she prepared for her release.

Students of Knights Ferry Elementary School recently took a hike to the Stanislaus River for the release of baby salmon.

As part of their place-based curriculum the students worked collaboratively to raise and release salmon into the river. As students said goodbye to the baby salmon it was with the understanding that salmon are endangered in many California Rivers. The students were encouraged to make a difference by contributing to the salmon population.
