Knights Ferry’s Graduation Day started a bit wet then cleared up, thank goodness! The event took place in front of the school overlooking the town. Pablo Martinez rang the bell to start the ceremony. Tate Cassaretto gave the Flag Salute and Sophia Thompson led the “Star Spangled Banner.” Olivia Doshas gave the Invocation and Nicole Brunker and Makena Mendonca gave the Welcome. The Board of Trustees was introduced by Drake Heffington and Jude Krick. The Eighth Grade teacher, Randy Russell gave a speech. Mrs. Barbara Burroughs was the speaker for the night. Trustees Diane Noon and Lisa Frymire handed out diplomas. Dr. Janet Skulina gave the closing remarks and all adjourned for cake and punch.

The Kindergarten class held their ceremony the same evening but at 5:30 p.m. Unfortunately one of the Kinders, Alizay Cardoso, was undergoing surgery in Sacramento from a traffic accident on her way to school Wednesday. She was injured when the car hit a pole on Sonora Road and was taken by helicopter to Davis Medical Center. Hurry and heal Alizay!

The evening was well attended and the corp. of officers did a wonderful job. Summer will be filled with many opportunities for service as well as fun activities to keep the Assembly busy.
