Businesses are offering special deals and discounts on Tuesdays during the Modesto on Ice season to encourage more people to shop, dine and play in the downtown Modesto area.

Modesto on Ice has returned for its second season to Downtown Modesto, running now until Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. It will be open every day through the holiday season, with extended holiday hours on Christmas and New Year’s Eve. This family-friendly ice rink offers public sessions, as well as figure skating and hockey lessons. Modesto on Ice also hosts private events. The Downtown Modesto (DoMo) Partnership brokered the deal to bring the ice rink to the community last year, and this year the DoMo Partnership is coordinating businesses in the downtown area to offer promotional deals and discounts for the community every Tuesday during the Modesto on Ice season. Participating businesses include Brenden Theaters, Fuzio Universal Bistro, Skewers Kabob House, Ralston’s Goat, Subway, Commonwealth, Jamba Juice, Erin Milan and Modesto on Ice.

“Downtown Modesto is coordinating DoMo Discount Days throughout the season to entice visitors and Modesto residents to come downtown to skate at Modesto on Ice, watch a movie at Brenden Theaters and stay to enjoy the great services and delicious food options in downtown,” said Josh Bridegroom, CEO of the DoMo Partnership. “Tuesdays are typically slower for downtown businesses, so this is a way to encourage a higher level of patronage on those days.”

In addition, Fuzio will offer 20 percent off all signature Firecracker Dishes, Skewers will offer 20 percent off its Saffron Chicken Kabob Entrée, Ralston’s Goat will offer 20 percent off any pan pizzas, Subway will offer 20 percent off its pastrami sandwich, Commonwealth will offer 20 percent off Commonwealth Nachos, Jamba Juice will offer 20 percent off all Classic Smoothies and Erin Milan will offer 20 percent off cuts, colors, balayages and facials.
