Valley’s Got Talent, the popular community talent contest that debuted in 2010 as a fundraiser for the non-profit Gallo Center for the Arts, is now accepting contestant applications for its sixth annual event.

Conceived as a live stage version of such popular television competitions as “America’s Got Talent,” the show invites entries from any non-professional performer who is at least 10 years old and resides in Stanislaus, Merced, San Joaquin, Calaveras, Tuolumne or Mariposa counties.

Valley’s Got Talent applications, rules and instructions may be downloaded at www.galloarts.org/vgt. The deadline for entries is Friday, May 1, 2015. There is no cost to enter. Contestants who are then selected for auditions will perform before a panel of judges on a date to be determined during the first two weeks of June, when the finalists will be determined.

Finalists will perform at the Gallo Center’s Mary Stuart Rogers Theater on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 28 and 29. Audience voting will take place during the Friday show and the winners will be announced at the Saturday performance. Cash prizes are awarded to the grand prize winner, as well as to winners in vocal, dance, instrumental, band, specialty and audience favorite categories.
