Local service organization Soroptimist International of Oakdale is sponsoring a “Dream It, Be It” conference for seventh through tenth grade girls who reside in Oakdale. The free conference will be held on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Oakdale High School’s library from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Shown, these former participants created Dream Collages using pictures and quotes that represented their dreams and goals for their future. This year, Oakdale’s Distinguished Young Woman Gaby Ceja will serve as keynote speaker. The conference will provide girls with access to professional role models, education, and resources to live their dreams. Sessions will include interactive presentations on discovering your dreams, setting and achieving goals, turning failure into success, and balancing stress.
