Domestic Dispute Turns Into Barricaded Subject
Oakdale police

Oakdale Police responded to a reported domestic disturbance on Old Bluff Court Thursday night, July 10 at 5 pm that resulted in the eventual arrest of one of the involved residents for kidnapping and false imprisonment.

Neighbors in the area reported that police shut down the street as they attempted to negotiate with Michael Starks, 31, who had locked himself in the house and refused to come out to meet with officers who were called to the scene.

Oakdale Police reported all of their patrol units were required for the incident for 35 minutes while police attempted to contact Starks inside the house and prevent entry onto the court by any vehicle traffic.

Sergeant Ben Savage said Starks eventually surrendered and was arrested for kidnapping and false imprisonment of his wife and child and felony sections of domestic violence and criminal threat charges.

Starks is being held in Stanislaus County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail
