Dog Park Closure Slated For March
Placeholder Image
Oakdale dog owners and their pooches are going to have some down time twice a year, having to wait for their leash-free romps at the West Basin Dog Park due to the need for maintenance of the grounds.

The park, which opened in August 2010, is showing severe wear to the fenced-in turf areas where the dogs are allowed to play, roam, and lightheartedly chase each other without the requirement of being tethered to their owner.

In a recent report to the city council, the public works department expressed the need to have the park closed for brief periods in March and August for maintenance to reseed, aerate, and fertilize the turf of the dog run area.
